Making realistic art with children's supplies
I love the idea of keeping warm colors in one case; cool colors in the other. Right now, mine are separted into two cases - watercolor pencils in one, and regular colored pencils in the other. I keep my pastel pencils separated.
this looks so good, such a fun technique 😊😊
Thank you! Oil pastels are fun. I wish I bought the bigger Mungyo set this year.
Beautiful! You are a good artist and a good teacher! thanks!
Thank you for the comments! <3
Beautiful!
These look so good, watched and enjoyed till the end ☺☺
Thank you! <3 I'm totally into sketching food these days. On my 4th sketchbook now lol
Thank you for doing a painting while explaining the pros and cons.
This is so stunning, what gorgeous art supplies ☺☺
Pretty packaging indeed.
Really nice! I just got a set of 48 water soluble oil pastels by Monte Marte. They dissolve really nicely with water and are fun to use.
Great idea, thank you for sharing..
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching <3
Amazingg✨
Thank you~
Thanks so much!!!!
You're welcome!
Is this good for painting a reborn baby kit?
Ummm, random. Haha! Yes I guess it should be okay.
No, it wouldn't be. Oil pastels never fully dry down. I wouldn't recommend oil paint, either. Try acrylics, there are very good qyality ones out there. Might try airbrushing, too.
I just ordered the Cray Pas Specialist on sale for 40% off on Amazon. If the Mungyo go on sale I"ll probably get them too, lol. Thank you for this great review.
They are so worth it. I hope you get the Mungyo too. Happy painting! :)
Thank you so much for sharing the comparison. Being new to oil pastels, your videos have been so helpful! 💗
Thank you so much!
This is super satisfying, I love my polychomos ☺☺
Thank you! I am more inclined toward Prismacolor although the polychromos have their own appeal as an oil-based pencil. Different qualities...
Hi! Do you still have these paintings? How are they doing after four years? Have they cracked at all? Would be wonderful to have an update on this video because what we’re all wondering is how these varnishes perform overtime :-) thank you!
It's a question I get asked a lot. All of these blocks are looking just as original. I do not see a significant change. I will consider doing a full video on this soon and also about achievability and lightfastness. I know a lot of artists worry about these qualities when buying supplies, but I give them the least priority. Most artwork done using student-grade supplies endure at least a decade before they start fading, if they ever do. Lightfastness is a measure of time and that time is in decades if not centuries.... So, for regular hobbyist artists, I don't see a real value in investing twice as much for lightfast products.
@@DeshArt good to know! I just started showing in galleries and selling my work… Thank you!
it’s like the blues but, yknow… green
Hmm I see green. :D
these look gorgeous, what wonderful ideas ☺☺
Thank you!
Thanks for the great comparison. I wonder if you could look in a later video at using them together? For instance, if the vibrancy is a little better with the Sennelier then one could do the base painting with the Munyo and add the highlights with the Sennelier perhaps? Another question would be what fixitive to you typically use when you have completed a drawing? Thanks again! :)
I rarely, if not never, use Sennelier in a full painting. Sennelier is meant to be used over a base painting. My base is usually watercolor or acrylic but it is okay to use a harder oil pastel brand for the base and then put the highlights and details on top using Sennelier. I will do a separate video on that. Sennelier oil pastels do not layer too well. It's because they are super creamy, so if you try to apply more than 2 layers, usually, it becomes a muddy pulp. Also, those pigments are precious, pricey, and super vibrant. They are meant to go on top of a base painting. I have seen a lot of artists attempting to use Sennelier right from the get-go and then getting frustrated with the poor results and also wasting a lot of pastels. As for fixatives, I don't use any. I put my oil pastel paintings inside transparent cases to preserve them. Sennelier usually harden overnight so you need to let a fresh painting sit for a while before putting them inside covers. BUT I do a video on fixatives here if you like to check it out: ruclips.net/video/_WJ-aONrAvc/видео.html
By my estimation, mungo are about 30% by volume larger than sennelier. Another factor to consider.
Yes but then, Sennelier is far more pigmented than Mungyo.
This is wonderful, Its gorgeous ☺☺☺
Thank you 😊
Wow 😍😍❤
Genius! Definitely will give these methods a try!
Glad you like it. Let us know how it goes. <3
Do you think you could do the background with water soluble oil pastels?
Yes, I think it should be possible. Worth a try! ☺
gorgeous tutorial, it looks fantastic ☺☺
Thank you! :)
Found 4 sticks of 20 year old Sennelier, they were intact where Faber-Castells had whitened & badly hardened. Also, Sennelier has stupendous colors.
Sennelier is the absolute best! <3
That is a very pretty tree! loaded!
It sure was!

Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Thank you for the video. Just bought mungyo. Trying pastels for the first time. Im happy with this brand but they're difficult to use because of the flat tips. Any suggestions.
Hello! I use color pencils to draw small details. They can be soft pastel pencils or wax-based ones like Prismacolor. The soft pigment of those pencils usually stick to oil pastel pigments... You can also dissolve oil pastel pigments in a solvent (turpentine or Linseed oil will do) and make a paint/paste and use a painting brush to draw details, just as you are using oil paint. I have tried both these methods and they work fine. Hope that helps! Happy painting :)
whoaaaa this is so cool!!!
Thanks. It's my fav paper these days. Love the ragged edges. Such a vintage look and feel. One of the best papers I've used. Bit on the expensive side though...
Hey dear, i just got an kindle and its included the kindle unlimited but i cannot use it! It tells me this “sorry, this account is not eligible to sign up for kindle unlimited.” Do you have any idea how to fix this?
Yes, please watch the video. It explains how to register to Kindle without having a US address.

What brand of coloured pencil are they
These are the brands: 1. Prismacolor Premier 2. Faber Castel Polychromos 3. Derwent Inktense 4. Stabilo CarbOthello 5. Winsor & Newton 6. Maped Watercolor pencils
Oder karanne kohomada
Interesting tip. Will definitely try it. I normally use a colour shaper to add details and pick up the pigment with it. It however does not work that well with layering lighter colours over darker ones, at least not as vibrant as in your example. Thanks for sharing.
❤👍
Que bonitos colores
Absolutely! Very soft and creamy too
nice
Thanks!
The covers on these books are gorgeous 🥰
Totally. I initially bought them for the covers. Lol Work of art. Michelle Harrison's 'Pinch of Magic' series has equally great covers.
I love the colors! 🎉
Thank you! Sennelier is the creamiest and best quality colors
It's so colourful. I actually like it. I wish I have that colour pencil.😊
I got these from Ali Express. These are the Brutfurner brand and are much cheaper than the Holbien but for same quality. I went through a few reviews before buying. Seems worth the price. And YES! The colors are soo pretty! ☺
😊❤
